Choose your distance and race the sunset on some of the most pristinely maintained trails in our region. Leopold's Nature Preserve, which runs parallel to our namesake, the North Fork Broad Run, is replete with several miles of interpretive trails, old hardwood forests, wildflower meadows, rock formations, and water features that you can take in and enjoy as you make your way around the many trails or the preserve. 

This will be our 7th time racing at Leopold's! This race course is 100% contained within the 7 miles of hiking trails, with the starting 1/4 mile paved and rest of the course on natural terrain dirt, grass, and leaves. 

Spectators are encouraged to enter the trails early and make use of the many intersections in the trails to cheer on racers.

Event Details:

• Race shirt included with all race distances 
• must register before Aug. 26 to guarantee race shirt. We order extra shirts for those who register after that date, but they are first-come first-served.
• Post-Race Refreshments included with all 3 race distances
• 1-Mile Fun Run is an untimed event
• Its OK for parents doing 10K/5K to run the 1-mile race with your kids
• Event is "Rain or Shine"
• Finisher medals for all race participants.
• To respect the trails we use, there is a registration limit.

Race Rules :

• Stay on designated trails/course. Failure to follow course direction will result in disqualification.
• Be aware of your surroundings/other runners, if wearing earbuds, make sure the music is low enough you can hear someone say "on your left." so they can get around you safely :)
• Race numbers must be worn on the front / visible at all times.
• Running Strollers are permitted for Leopold's Preserve, we just ask that you line up towards the back to avoid contact with runners.
• There are no cut-off times... but the sun will set eventually :)
• Respect other racers, volunteers and the environment. No littering.
